Bob Buck Youth Scholarship

The Bob Buck Youth Scholarship program offers youth memberships at Lake Kezar Country Club for boys and girls up to age 17 in the Fryeburg, Brownfield and Denmark communities. This scholarship program is being funded by the generosity of Bob and April, Bob Srs. Children. They have made a generous donation, in their Dad’s memory, to fund youth golf scholarships for many years.

Bob’s love of golf began early in his life and continued to grow. In the summer, he played after work and on weekends. If he wasn’t playing, he was watching on tv, reading or watching instructional material or marshalling at tournaments.

He shared his love of the game by teaching and playing with all of his family and setting us all up with clubs, lessons and more balls than you can imagine. Unfortunately, none of us developed anywhere near the skill he possessed. There is however one grandson who is showing considerable promise!

Over the years, Bob loved playing in tournaments, some at his home club in Maryland or later Georgia, some at friend’s courses, and some in the summer in Bridgton and Lovell. He won or finished well in most and accumulated more trophies, plaques and other awards than he had room for. He was also blessed to record two or three holes in one!
At Lake Kezar Country Club, he enjoyed playing with whomever he was paired with, but he had a special group of friends and neighbors including Eric, Karen, Bob, Paul, Al, Jane, Ken and Sean whose company he loved!

Bob passed away in September of 2023, just months before his 100th birthday. In searching for a way to honor him, we were delighted to hear about the idea of sponsoring youth summer memberships at Lake Kezar Country Club. We can only hope that some of those who participate will enjoy the same health and social benefits as Dad.

We hope that we may have the privilege of meeting more of you some day soon!
